Job Summary

Nova Southeastern University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with faculty and healthcare providers to manage patient oral health issues.
  • Collect and input data related to patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Conduct data entry and generate reports from multiple clinic sites.
  • Consult with patients' caregivers, healthcare providers, and social services providers to facilitate access and utilization of services.
  • Schedule patient appointments, facilitate transportation, insurance information, and medical record needs.
  • Respond appropriately to patient concerns, outside agencies, and other third-party personnel.
  • Distribute and retrieve diagnostic data (prescriptions, lab tests, and blood test results).
  • Remain apprised of activities, current and planned, with the programs.
  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Check for completeness of records and input all information into computer systems.
  • Answer phone calls in an accurate and timely manner, while being professional and courteous.
  • Maintain message logs and conduct follow-up phone calls for cancelled and missed appointments.
  • Recruit patients for grant-approved programs.
  • Assist with residents to supply data for needed projects related to the grant.
  • Contact programs' directors of any changes to the residents' schedules at grant clinics.
  • Monitor doctor's treatment plans to schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Perform necessary office and clerical functions.
  • Complete other projects as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Four (4) years' experience in a directly related field, or an Associate's Degree or 60 college credits and two (2) years' experience in a directly related field, or a Bachelor's degree and one (1) year experience in a directly related field.
  • Experience in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, preferably with AxiUm software.
  • Bilingual Spanish - English.

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous record keeping.
  • Exceptional people skills, presentation skills, and phone etiquette skills.
Working Conditions
  • This is a non-safety sensitive position.
  • Background screening is required.
