Aegis Worldwide is actively seeking a Lead Automation Engineer for a prominent manufacturer of industrial equipment located in Lyons, IL. This position is crucial for the success of various projects, focusing on the development of PLC logic, advanced motion control, and programming PLCs and HMIs from the ground up.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in roles such as Control Engineer, Automation Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, or Electrical Engineer.
- Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs from the beginning.
- Experience in an OEM, Machine Builder, or Capital Equipment Projects environment is essential.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical is advantageous, particularly in designing electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for developing PLC logic, advanced motion control, and HMI programming from scratch.
- Participate in project teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, project managers, and production personnel.
- Utilize AutoCAD Electrical for the design of electrical schematics.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within a smaller, family-owned company with around 50 employees.
