Position Overview: As the EHS Manager at Schneider Electric, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the compliance with all relevant Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, including local, national, and company-specific regulations. Your focus will be on providing EHS guidance across various operations, including engineering and manufacturing, while collaborating with diverse teams to foster a robust safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to all EHS regulations and cultivate a strong safety culture within the facility.
  • Design and execute effective EHS programs, policies, and procedures aimed at enhancing compliance and overall EHS performance.
  • Deliver training and resources to employees to ensure understanding and compliance with EHS standards and company protocols.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards and compliance issues.
  • Engage with the workforce to address EHS concerns and foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with union representatives to facilitate the resolution of EHS matters.
  • Collaborate with the union to develop and implement joint EHS initiatives, including training programs and safety committees.
  • Provide technical EHS support to management and lead the site safety committee.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and offer recommendations for enhancing EHS practices.
  • Act as a liaison between the EHS department and union representatives to ensure effective communication on EHS issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of six years' experience in an EHS role, ideally within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience in electrical safety, machine guarding, training, and ergonomics is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing EHS programs and improving compliance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with unions and collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
Essential Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environment, Health, and Safety Management or a related field is required.
  • Thorough understanding of EHS guidelines and regulations, including OSHA and state regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with proficiency in conveying information across all organizational levels.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and devise effective solutions.
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining positive relationships with union representatives and employees.
  • Willingness to travel to other facilities and participate in training sessions as necessary.
  • Familiarity with Lean and 5S principles and their application in an EHS context.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.
