Position Overview:
As the EHS Manager at Schneider Electric, you will oversee the adherence to all relevant Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, ensuring compliance with local, national, and company-specific regulations. Your role will involve providing EHS guidance across various operations, including engineering and manufacturing, while collaborating with diverse teams to foster EHS initiatives that cultivate a robust safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure strict compliance with EHS regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Design and execute comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures aimed at addressing compliance challenges and enhancing overall EHS performance.
  • Deliver training and resources to employees to guarantee their understanding and adherence to EHS regulations and corporate policies.
  • Conduct routine audits and risk evaluations to identify and mitigate potential hazards and compliance gaps.
  • Engage with union representatives to address EHS matters and foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with union representatives to resolve EHS issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with union members to create and implement joint EHS initiatives, including training programs and safety committees.
  • Provide expert EHS support to management and lead the site safety committee.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean, and 5S initiatives, offering insights for enhancing EHS practices.
  • Act as a liaison between the EHS department and union representatives to ensure seamless communication on EHS matters.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of six years of experience in an EHS role, ideally within a manufacturing context.
  • Expertise in electrical safety, machine safeguarding, training, and ergonomics is highly valued.
  • A proven history of successfully implementing EHS programs and enhancing compliance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees, management, and external partners.
  • Experience collaborating with unions and understanding collective bargaining agreements is advantageous.
Essential Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environment, Health, and Safety Management or a related field is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of EHS guidelines and regulations, including OSHA and relevant state regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the capability to interpret data and devise effective solutions.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining positive relationships with union representatives and employees.
  • Willingness to travel to various facilities and participate in training sessions as necessary.
  • Familiarity with Lean and 5S methodologies and their application in an EHS context.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain precise records and reports.
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
