Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Product Team Lead to contribute to a significant Missile Defense Agency initiative. The successful candidate will possess an advanced degree with over 7 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years in a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop emulators while integrating third-party simulation tools.
  • Create and manage scenarios, anchoring models and system behaviors for the Command and Control, Battle-Management, and Communications program.
  • Collaborate with agile teams to comprehend concepts and algorithms, facilitating the prototyping of Modeling and Simulation Tools.
  • Utilize mathematical and statistical techniques to produce Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs) and algorithm reference implementations, ensuring version control through Git repositories.
  • Develop unit tests, preferably using Cucumber scenarios, to support the transition of MATLAB reference implementations to Java.
  • Implement DevSecOps principles to establish and maintain automated analysis/test pipelines for continuous integration testing.
  • Conduct demonstrations of ADDs and reference implementations during Agile sprints to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in the development of M&S tools for algorithm verification and validation.
  • Prepare and present technical briefs at Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), showcasing a comprehensive understanding of technical principles and concepts.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the M&S IPT.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • Experience in developing and utilizing mathematical models.
  • Proficiency in algorithm engineering, including design, analysis, implementation, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and software engineering processes.
  • Strong foundation in mathematics and physics, particularly in probability, statistics, linear algebra, and calculus.
  • Proficient in MATLAB or similar programming languages (Python, Perl, Bash, etc.) for prototyping and data visualization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possession of or eligibility for a top-secret clearance.
  • Willingness to support occasional domestic and international travel.
  • Strong analytical skills, including Monte Carlo analysis and statistical regression.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Linux, databases, Git, Jenkins, Jira, and other relevant tools.
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation of complex systems and machine learning techniques.
  • Understanding of verification and validation testing for intricate software systems.
