Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Regional Disaster Response Manager to oversee the implementation of disaster cycle services in our region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of employees and volunteers to deliver disaster services in a rapid, accessible, and equitable manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disaster Response Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the disaster response team, ensuring that disaster services are delivered in accordance with established program standards.
  • Volunteer Management: Direct and manage a team of employees and volunteers to implement disaster cycle services, including disaster readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Community Engagement: Lead regional efforts to prepare and mobilize communities to respond to disasters and emergencies.
  • Matrix Management: Build relationships and collaborate with internal partners, including employees and volunteers, to achieve disaster response goals.
  • Disaster Operations: Initiate, scale, coordinate, and manage disaster relief operations in the region, ensuring that services are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in disaster response, management, or a related field.
  • Management Experience: 5 years of management experience of paid or volunteer workforce.
  • Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Social Work: Experience in social work, social services, and case management is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
