Clinical Director of Outpatient and Addiction Services

Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Director to lead our outpatient and addiction services team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the daily functioning of our outpatient services, including recruitment and supervision of clinical staff.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a related field and independent licensure in their respective field of study. They will also have a minimum of two years' experience providing therapeutic services post-license and previous supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a staff of employees, motivating, coaching, and supporting them toward maximizing their performance and productivity.
- Plan and implement the orientation and training of employees per program guidelines.
- Handle personnel matters effectively and consistently with existing policies, including interviewing, hiring, disciplining, terminating, and completing annual evaluations for employees.
- Ensure timely and appropriate documentation and billing of services in the manner required by payers.
- Provide clinical supervision to staff not independently licensed, ensuring compliance with BSRB regulation for service provision, ethics, and professional development.
- Work with the Senior Director/Billing Manager/Clinical Coordinator to ensure effective and efficient front office processes.
- Provide oversight to the Counseling Center program and staff, ensuring appropriate accreditation and licensing standards are met.
- Ensure services are provided in compliance with insurance regulations and approved practices for mental health treatment.
- Work with the Senior Director and Agency departments to develop strategies to maximize MHA participation with reimbursement systems in a manner that achieves maximum care benefits at most affordable cost levels.
- Identify and establish contacts with potential referral sources, presenting information regarding MHASCK in a manner favorable to the mission and philosophy of the program.
- Ensure compliance with payer systems, including utilization review functions.
- Complete quality assurance and utilization review measures, including peer reviews, CQI, annual, and strategic planning.
- Manage operational expenses within an approved budget, preparing and processing necessary program reports.
- Provide therapy services to clients and patients, individually and in group sessions, providing clinical assessments, formulating diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing assessments and referrals to ensure client needs are met.
- Maintain appropriate client records, maintaining confidentiality of records.
- Collect documented outcomes, tracking efficiency, effectiveness, satisfaction, and access indicators.
- Participate as a CARF team member, assuring service delivery in conjunction with CARF guidelines.
- Become familiar with and proficient in various substance abuse and treatment resources for the purpose of being able to obtain, compile, and present aggregate information/data requested from Administration.
- Prepare and submit reports, approving timesheets, purchase requests, expense reports, and case file information as necessary for charts and agency operations.
Requirements:
- Maintain an acceptable overall attendance record, including department staff meetings, agency meetings, and trainings as required.
- Exhibit an appropriate level of technical knowledge for the position.
- Produce a quantity of work necessary to meet job requirements.
- Work well with a team, keeping others informed of information needed, treating others with respect, and maintaining a spirit of cooperation.
- Maintain effective and professional verbal and written interactions with peers, customers, supervisors, and other staff.
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to handle new assignments, changes in procedures, and business requirements.
- Complete assigned work, meeting deadlines without reminders or follow-up from supervisors or others.
- Perform work conscientiously with a high degree of accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Extensive typing/data entry, writing.
- Lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds.
- Bending/stooping.
- Driving for the purpose of community mobility.
