Job Summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a skilled Assembly Operations Specialist to join our team. As an Assembly Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly Operations: Places parts in specified relationship to each other, bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Product Preparation: Cuts products to specific measurements as needed and removes defective products as required.
  • Maintenance and Housekeeping: Tends machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line, works at different workstations as production needs require, and cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No specific education or experience requirements, but prior carpentry experience is helpful.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, ability to write simple correspondence, verbal expression ability to effectively present information, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and ability to read a tape measure.
Work Environment

The Assembly Operations Specialist will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and varying temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and the employee will be required to wear ear plugs for noise protection as well as eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.
