Housekeeper Job Description

Masonicare at Ashlar Village in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Housekeeper to join our team.

Job Summary

This is a housekeeper position in a senior living community that includes both independent and assisted living. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of resident homes and common areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive instructions and assemble necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for designated areas.
  • Clean common areas and resident homes, including dusting, washing walls and windows, and vacuuming floors and carpets.
  • Strip and remake unoccupied beds, and maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.
  • Use stepladders and mechanical vacuums as required, and detect and report defective equipment or faulty operations.
  • Maintain surveillance of housekeeping cart in resident access areas, and follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
  • Interact with adult and older residents in a respectful and reassuring manner, and communicate effectively with staff and residents.
Requirements
  • No experience necessary.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
