Your Role in Our Team:
As an Architect for Federal Projects, you will:
- Utilize your extensive expertise in managing design and construction initiatives for Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Energy (DOE) facilities.
- Possess a thorough understanding of federal design regulations and the project delivery framework.
- Lead and mentor design teams throughout federally contracted projects.
- Define project scopes while ensuring effective organization and execution of assignments.
- Conduct quality assurance checks, ensuring that designs, specifications, and construction documents meet accuracy and completeness standards.
- Oversee architectural design staff and facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration across our national practice.
- Act as the Design Manager, guiding large-scale projects and managing extensive design teams, including various subconsultants.
- Engage in business development activities as necessary.
- Participate in project planning, including scope definition, timeline, fee estimates, and completion projections.
- Analyze project strategies for cost implications and returns.
- Prepare and communicate project objectives and strategies effectively.
- Support technical project activities and represent the practice at various professional engagements.
- Collaborate with global colleagues to exchange knowledge and expertise.
- Assist in project scheduling and manage the coordination of project submissions.
- Prepare regulatory permit applications for review and approval.
- Provide support in technical writing and editing.
- Ensure design production aligns with specifications and regulatory standards.
- Conduct analyses and prepare technical reports.
- Coordinate the efforts of consultants and team members involved in project development.
What You Bring to the Table:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, with a Master's degree or advanced technical coursework being advantageous.
- A Registered Architect (RA) License, with the potential to obtain additional licenses as required.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with 15 years preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to secure and maintain necessary security clearances.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, demonstrated through presentations and participation in technical committees.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
