VMR Strategic Solutions is in search of a Senior Systems Administrator to enhance our IT division. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management of our server and network frameworks. Your responsibilities will encompass supervising the operations team, monitoring system efficiency, and configuring both new software and hardware solutions. To excel in this position, you should possess outstanding troubleshooting capabilities and practical experience with a variety of operating systems. Ultimately, your mission will be to ensure the seamless operation of our software, hardware, servers, and networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess customer requirements and the realities of available IT solutions.
  • Oversee daily configuration and operational activities of business systems.
  • Enhance system operations and optimize resource utilization.
  • Conduct system analysis and strategic planning.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support.
  • Coordinate, deliver, and implement installations and upgrades for hardware and system software.
  • Establish ongoing system security compliance measures, including patches and updates.
  • Deliver desktop support across managed environments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in PowerShell scripting and programming.
  • Possess recent experience in system administration for both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Be prepared for potential travel to other locations as required (though not anticipated).

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School/GED with 12+ years of relevant experience; Associate Degree with 10+ years; Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years; Master's Degree with 4+ years; or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in current Windows client-server environments, including OS configuration, file sharing, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in virtualization and its implementation using VDI Desktops.
  • Practical experience in the implementation and maintenance of thin-client workstations.
  • Must hold one of the following DoD-approved certifications to meet the IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED.
