Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our team at ASM Research. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology and systems administration, with a focus on complex information technology and systems infrastructures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building complex information technology and systems infrastructures, conducting analysis including planning, designing, and evaluating a variety of complex information technology tools, and handling user requests for system needs and upgrades that are unique or complex and require additional research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build complex information technology and systems infrastructures
  • Conduct analysis including planning, designing, and evaluating a variety of complex information technology tools
  • Handle user requests for system needs and upgrades that are unique or complex and require additional research
  • Implement various applications of a highly complex nature
  • Administer and run complex tests on operating system and related software
  • Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups and, when necessary, perform data recoveries
  • Perform root cause analysis and diagnostics on the more unique or complex production systems
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with team members to implement efficiencies
  • Actively engaged in the planning and designing of new platforms and integrating new technologies into existing infrastructure
  • Evaluate new technologies and releases
  • Conduct cost analysis of proposed new/upgraded platforms and technologies
  • Effectively create and maintain relevant systems documentation and user guides
  • Act as a mentor to junior team members by providing guidance and expertise on troubleshooting unique or complex problems
  • Apply scripting methodologies to automate related tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience; Master's Degree preferred
  • CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field
  • Candidates must possess a TS/SCI with FS poly

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and products that include Microsoft Windows, Windows Servers, Microsoft Office365 and SharePoint, Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex system hardware, software or networking related problems
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the deployment of new technology and resolve technical problems individually and as a senior project participant
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Advanced experience with cloud infrastructure, digital workspace, and storage technology
