We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative II Adult EKG to join our team at University Hospitals. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Primary Responsibilities: Accurately and efficiently register patients, schedule procedures, transmit charges, collect payments, and procure necessary materials.
- Customer Service: Utilize quality customer service techniques to ensure patient needs are met, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, physicians, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Departmental Support: Assist in maintaining department operations, ensuring seamless workflow and efficient use of resources.
- Leadership: Demonstrate leadership abilities by resolving issues, monitoring schedules, assisting staff and patients, and ensuring effective departmental workflow.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Compliance: Comply with all policies and standards, adhering to regulatory requirements and University Hospitals' code of conduct.
- Training and Development: Participate in annual training and development programs to maintain proficiency in Protected Health Information (PHI) management and adhere to University Hospitals' policies and procedures.
- Education: High School Equivalent or GED required.
- Work Experience: 1+ year experience as a Patient Service Representative I, with customer service experience in the medical field preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Possess typing skills of 30 wpm, excellent verbal and communication skills, and be detail-oriented. Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in ICD9 coding and medical terminology are also required.
- Certifications: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Standing occasionally, walking occasionally, sitting constantly, and lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye-hand-foot coordination are required.
- Travel: 10% travel required.
