The Mobile Receptionist Team Assistant plays a vital role in the success of our mobile healthcare unit. This dynamic individual will be responsible for driving our vehicles to various locations, setting up the mobile clinic, and ensuring a smooth patient flow. With a unique blend of receptionist duties and logistical management, this role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can multitask with ease.
Key Responsibilities- Drive and operate our vehicles to designated locations, ensuring safe and timely arrival.
- Prepare the mobile clinic for operations, including setting up sign-in sheets and ensuring all necessary equipment is in place.
- Check in patients, obtain consents, and verify insurance information, all while maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Manage patient information, including updating demographics and insurance status, and referring patients to Medicaid Eligibility workers as needed.
- Coordinate patient flow within the mobile clinic, working closely with lab, pharmacy, and medical staff to ensure seamless care.
- Provide administrative support, including processing mail, handling office deliveries, and managing faxes.
- Handle financial responsibilities, including providing patient information and customer service related to charges, discounts, payments, and billing inquiries.
- Participate in training and support, assisting new Front Office staff as needed and maintaining a clean and tidy mobile clinic environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in reception work, public service, or a healthcare/social service setting.
- Previous computer experience is desirable.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to make independent decisions based on clinic protocols.
- High level of accuracy with numbers and data entry, essential for maintaining accurate patient records.
- Ability to calmly and effectively manage and de-escalate tense or challenging situations with patients or the public.
This role requires a significant amount of travel to various locations within the region. The Mobile Receptionist Team Assistant must be prepared for frequent travel, including driving and setting up the mobile clinic at different sites as needed.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, clean driving record, and insurance coverage required.
Equipment UsedOffice equipment, including computer, printer, telephone, fax, copier, scanner.
ImmunizationStaff members must meet immunization requirements as stated in VGMHC's immunization policy and state and federal guidelines.
