Position Summary:
The Billing and Collections Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization receives timely payments for the products and services provided to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage billing processes for all payers, including addressing and correcting claim rejections.
  • Handle denials, aging reports, open orders, and conversion to purchase reports for all payers.
  • Download and accurately post electronic payments.
  • Engage with Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers to resolve inquiries and issues.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers and staff.
  • Assist in training new billing personnel.
  • Conduct customer chart reviews and audits on a monthly basis.
  • Process and post all payments from clients and insurance providers.
  • Manage refunds for clients and insurance claims.
  • Handle prior approval requests and notifications.
  • Utilize the Brightree Collections Dashboard effectively.
  • Contact patients regarding outstanding balances to arrange payments or payment plans.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Medicare billing practices is advantageous.
  • Experience with Brightree software is preferred.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a desk and on a computer.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other accounting software is required.
  • Capability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and maintain professional interactions with clients.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial.
