Food Service Professional

The Washington Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth is seeking a skilled Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students and staff at the Washington School for the Deaf campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for up to 200 students and staff, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Provide meals for special diets, sports, field trips, and catering requests
- Use and clean equipment such as the flat-top grill, steamers, convection ovens, gas ranges, meat slicer, steam kettles, and serving lines
- Work as a team member with other food service staff to serve meals in a friendly, safe, and relaxed atmosphere
- Evaluate prepared food for flavor, presentation, and temperature to ensure nutritional quality and safety
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Food service training or experience
