Job Description:

As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Your primary focus will be on providing accurate and timely cost reporting to clients, negotiating change orders, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

You will work closely with project teams to extract data from complex spreadsheets, transforming it to fit operational needs. Additionally, you will manage forensic reviews of costs, carry out valuations on high-value projects, and complete timely and accurate cost checking and monthly valuation processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle, including forecasting and ensuring accurate cash flow reporting.
  • Negotiate change orders and ensure effective post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  • Implement commercial processes and procedures agreed between Turner & Townsend and our clients.
  • Ensure cost auditing and valuation work is managed effectively, and a robust process for cost validation is in place.
  • Produce monthly cost and overall project status reports for presentation to clients.
  • Negotiate final accounts in a timely manner, providing maximum value to clients.
  • Aid in compiling as-built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
  • Work with stakeholders to follow correct project close-out procedures.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a construction cost management role within the construction industry.
  • College degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry legal and technical matters, such as different procurement routes and contract types.
  • Good communication skills and experience managing large-scale projects at a program level.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
