Position Overview:
We are in search of a Retail Tech Consultant who is eager to advance their career within UNFI as we expand our services and reach. The ideal candidate will be a business professional dedicated to fostering and managing relationships with UNFI retailers in their designated region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage Retail Technology relationships with retailers, creating tailored technology implementation plans in collaboration with the Regional R/T Director and various departments.
  • Work under the guidance of the Regional Retail Technology Manager, collaborating with fellow Retail Technology Consultants and external vendors.
  • Exhibit strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, effectively engaging with a diverse range of individuals both in-person and remotely.
  • Demonstrate project management skills while staying informed about industry standards and key technology strategies.
  • Possess both technical and mechanical skills to handle various aspects of the role, including the installation and support of networking hardware and software.
  • Prior experience in retail or applied technology is advantageous. Candidates with backgrounds in IT consulting, POS systems, retail networking, or recent tech graduates eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of remote work while traveling to customer locations as needed. Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and enhance professional skills through attendance at industry conferences, corporate training sessions, and approved educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • A 2-year technical degree, college degree, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least 1 year of experience in similar roles.
  • The ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business cases for various UNFI retailers is crucial, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Independence is key, as the Retail Technology Consultant will operate with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and capable of managing a complex schedule effectively.
  • A mechanical aptitude combined with a solid background in applied technology is necessary, with a willingness to adapt and learn new tools quickly.
  • This position requires strong public-facing skills, with an emphasis on excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
