Job Overview

This role is integral to ensuring efficient communication among healthcare professionals for the timely triage and transfer of patients. Utilizing a telephonic triage system, the coordinator will manage patient registrations through a computer-based software application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a multi-channel phone system to facilitate patient triage and transfer (50%)
  • Input patient information into the electronic medical record system (25%)
  • Dispatch emergency alert notifications as needed (10%)
  • Exhibit strong computer proficiency and typing skills (10%)
  • Collaborate with emergency transport personnel to coordinate urgent services (10%)
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned (5%)

Required Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience

Preferred:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or a related field
  • 3 years of experience as a First Responder
  • 1 year of experience as a Nursing student
  • 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • 1 year of experience as a Paramedic
  • 1 year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Certification as a First Responder, Paramedic, EMT, or LPN (PA)
  • Proficiency in multi-channel phone systems
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience in dispatch operations
