Job Overview
This role is integral to ensuring efficient communication among healthcare professionals for the timely triage and transfer of patients. Utilizing a telephonic triage system, the coordinator will manage patient registrations through a computer-based software application.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a multi-channel phone system to facilitate patient triage and transfer (50%)
- Input patient information into the electronic medical record system (25%)
- Dispatch emergency alert notifications as needed (10%)
- Exhibit strong computer proficiency and typing skills (10%)
- Collaborate with emergency transport personnel to coordinate urgent services (10%)
- Perform additional tasks as assigned (5%)
Required Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
Preferred:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or a related field
- 3 years of experience as a First Responder
- 1 year of experience as a Nursing student
- 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- 1 year of experience as a Paramedic
- 1 year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Certification as a First Responder, Paramedic, EMT, or LPN (PA)
- Proficiency in multi-channel phone systems
- Strong computer skills
- Experience in dispatch operations
