About the Role

Festival Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery and Deli Department Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Bakery and Deli departments to achieve sales and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead, support, and reinforce Festival culture, guest service, and performance expectations.
  • Staffing and Training: Maintain adequate staff levels by partnering with Human Resources Manager to interview applicants and extend job offers to qualified candidates. Provide thorough and consistent training and leadership of new Bakery and Deli associates.
  • Labor Management: Manage Bakery and Deli labor goals by creating associate schedules and collaborating with store leadership on daily, weekly, and annual labor objectives.
  • Guest Service: Provide excellent guest services by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and living the boomerang principle.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels and ensure accurate pricing on products received and sold.
  • Operations: Manage all aspects of gross profit goals, planning, and shrink control. Ensure correct signage is represented throughout the Bakery and Deli Departments.
  • Team Development: Develop associates by supporting professional goals and objectives. Write and conduct performance reviews of the Bakery and Deli associates, partnering with Bakery and Deli leaders on specific areas within the department.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience (at least 2 years as manager) in retail or restaurant preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse crew in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of technology and the use of a computer. Thorough knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Certifications: WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival will pay for certification).
Work Environment

The Bakery and Deli Department Manager is a full-time, salaried position. The work schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
