Assist in delivering a range of culturally relevant, bilingual, non-professional support services for children and families to achieve case-related objectives.
Key Duties Include:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and provide non-professional support services to clients under the guidance of a social worker and casework supervisor, adhering to contractual and regulatory standards.
- Transport foster children to medical appointments and other necessary locations.
- Supervise children during appointments at home, in offices, or other appropriate venues.
- Maintain a resource file and familiarize yourself with local medical and educational facilities serving children.
- Document observations related to the child and foster parents, reporting findings to the responsible social worker.
- Compile and maintain comprehensive progress notes for assigned cases using computerized systems.
- Gather reports and resource information from other agencies as directed by the supervisor.
- Support the social worker in case assessments for developing casework plans.
- Assist with home evaluations, renewals, and training activities as needed.
- Handle inquiries related to post-foster care in accordance with agency policies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate's degree in human services or a related field, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 60 college credits or a combination of education and experience is required. A Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Preferred one year of experience in child welfare or refugee resettlement programs.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid unrestricted driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation is necessary. Proof of current automobile registration and insurance is required.
- Extended hours may be necessary.
