Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Urology Faculty Group Practice team at NYU Langone Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and Advanced Care Practitioners in providing patient care, including validating patient identifiers, preparing patients and rooms for examination, measuring and recording vital signs, drawing blood, and collecting other lab samples.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and performing data entry.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, clean and stock exam rooms, and maintain patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Communicate effectively with providers and administrative staff, escalate issues, and promote a positive patient experience.
  • Assist with inbasket message management, including reviewing and responding to patient medical advice requests, and utilize EPIC functionality to review and update patient records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including completing annual competencies, partnering with administrative and clinical personnel to complete prior authorization, medication refills, and referrals, and supporting FGP Clinical Quality Management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution or current medical assistant certification from a nationally recognized accredited institution preferred.
  • Working knowledge of English, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a team work environment.
