A prominent community financial institution is looking to fill the role of a full-time Commercial Credit Underwriter, available in a hybrid format.
The Commercial Credit Underwriter will be tasked with evaluating credit data on existing and prospective borrowers, making informed decisions regarding the approval of various loan types, and supporting loan officers in conducting financial assessments and underwriting processes. The primary goal is to uphold and safeguard the quality of the bank's assets.
Present loan evaluations to the Loan Committee and Board of Directors while fostering collaboration with loan officers and support staff.Key Responsibilities:
Examine and interpret financial documents, tax filings, and forecasts that accompany commercial loan applications.
Maintain a robust understanding of various financial statements and tax returns, demonstrating a commitment to staying updated on new developments in tax regulations and financial assessment.
Conduct thorough underwriting reviews of commercial loan applications.Actively engage in the presentation and discussion of commercial loan applications with the Loan Committee and Board of Directors.
Execute annual reviews of significant commercial loan accounts, providing written analyses that include recommendations regarding loan classifications and necessary actions.
Collaborate with colleagues across different departments to ensure task completion.Communicate with loan officers during the review process, conveying the evolving expectations of the loan committee and enhancing their understanding of credit criteria and current underwriting standards.
Ensure compliance with Credit Policy.Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience with nCino is preferred.
Previous experience in a community banking environment is advantageous.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial Underwriting is required.
Familiarity with loan documentation and various credit structures is essential.
Experience with LaserPro and/or Wolters Kluwer is a plus.
Must be self-sufficient and capable of working independently.
