Accounting Director Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Director to join our team at ExpertHiring. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining and training personnel on accounting-related tasks, working with various systems and software, and assisting with implementing new databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and train personnel on accounting-related tasks, including user profiles and inquiries.
  • Work with various systems and software, including Yardi and Citrix.
  • Assist with implementing new databases and maintain user database.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Sharedrive.
  • Approve and manage timesheets and employee time management.
  • Conduct training on accounting systems and software for internal employees.
  • Train and onboard 3rd party management employees and review Senior Accountants financials.
  • Complete real estate acquisition and sale checklists, including setup and reconciliation of tenant-related subledger items.
  • Lead job cost implementation and review fixed assets and construction in progress reconciliations.
  • Review management contracts prior to real estate acquisition, incorporating accounting-related clauses.
  • Prepare financial workbooks, including bank reconciliations, mortgage reconciliations, equity schedules, and more.
  • Assist Director of Finance with the audit process and maintain communication with auditing personnel.
  • Maintain distribution lists for user administration and take on additional responsibilities as requested.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
