As a frontrunner in the indoor farming sector, BrightFarms is reshaping the landscape of produce cultivation and distribution through a network of advanced, eco-friendly hydroponic farms. Our operations include multiple state-of-the-art greenhouse facilities, with additional regional hubs set to launch soon.
In this role, you will be tasked with ensuring optimal growing conditions within our greenhouses by utilizing data-driven methodologies. Your focus will be on implementing and overseeing environmental strategies that enhance crop yield consistency and quality across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with growers to identify and address climate-related challenges in each greenhouse.
- Develop and optimize strategies for managing environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and light exposure.
- Monitor greenhouse conditions and establish effective reporting mechanisms.
- Conduct routine assessments of climate control systems.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing energy efficiency and CO2 management, executing sustainability initiatives.
- Work alongside controls engineers to resolve system-related issues.
- Integrate new climate control technologies and programs into operations.
- Engage with stakeholders to establish climate program standards and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Horticulture, Floriculture, Biology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with greenhouse environmental control systems.
- Proven experience in implementing data-driven agricultural strategies.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power BI.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in data analytics.
- Background in vegetable crop management.
Work Environment:
- Position involves extended periods of desk work and computer usage.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds may be required.
