Bakery Customer Service Associate

The Bakery Venue Service Team Member is responsible for executing all tasks related to customer engagement, inventory management, and cleanliness within the bakery section. This role is essential in maintaining a positive brand image by delivering friendly, efficient service to both customers and colleagues consistently.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers by weighing, pricing, and packaging their orders while providing excellent service.
- Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about bakery offerings, including specials and menu updates.
- Cash Handling: Adhere to cash management protocols relevant to the bakery service areas.
- Product Quality: Monitor the freshness and quality of bakery items, ensuring proper rotation of stock.
- Record Keeping: Complete necessary documentation for product spoilage and transfers.
- Punctuality: Arrive at the work area on time, properly groomed, and ready to fulfill scheduled shifts and training sessions.
- Sales Techniques: Model effective selling strategies and respond promptly to customer inquiries.
- Inventory Management: Optimize sales through appropriate preparation, storage, stocking, and merchandising of bakery products.
- Compliance: Follow established procedures for weights, measures, health, and safety standards.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in both work and shopping areas, ensuring equipment meets cleanliness standards.
- Operational Duties: Perform opening, mid, and closing tasks as assigned, ensuring accuracy in signage and pricing.
- Safety Reporting: Immediately report any safety hazards or violations.
- Additional Tasks: Undertake other responsibilities as directed by leadership.
- Understanding of food production and basic cooking techniques.
- Ability to assess product quality visually.
- High energy and enthusiasm for bakery products and company values.

- No prior retail experience is necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Standing and walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
- Hand use involving grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing/pulling.
- Engagement in motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents and varying temperatures.
- Flexibility to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment, including knives and electric pallet jacks.
- Potential use of ladders as required.
