Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our team at Amberwell Health. As an Environmental Services Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and equipment to ensure a high level of cleanliness and safety.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment, including buffers, vacuums, and carpet extractors, to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Report any unusual findings or concerns to the Facilities Manager.
  • Exhibit good ergonomic use of cleaning supplies and equipment to prevent injury and promote a safe working environment.
  • Mix cleaning solutions according to the specified formula to ensure effective cleaning and disinfection.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to pager system messages.
  • Utilize supplies and equipment efficiently and cost-effectively to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Clean and remake patient beds to ensure a comfortable and hygienic environment.
  • Dry and wet mop floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Properly dispose of all trash, including biohazardous waste, to prevent contamination and maintain a clean environment.
  • Complete and submit daily checklists to the Facilities Manager to ensure accurate reporting and accountability.
  • Thoroughly and completely clean and disinfect all areas, paying attention to detail to ensure a high level of cleanliness and safety.
  • Be knowledgeable about departmental processes and procedures to ensure effective cleaning and maintenance of all areas, including patient rooms, surgery, OB, ER, Laboratory, Family Practice, and more.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including patient rooms, common areas, and equipment rooms. The Environmental Services Technician will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during job functions to prevent exposure to hazards and maintain a safe working environment.

The physical demands of this position include exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly. The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects, as well as stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, is required.
