As a Paralegal Specialist with the Army National Guard, you will play a vital role in providing legal support to judges, Army lawyers, and unit commanders. Your expertise will be essential in areas such as family law, international law, contract law, defense legal services, and judicial legal services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal documents in courts-martial and other military justice matters
  • Assist with legal affairs, including power of attorney, wills, and separation decrees
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to subordinates
  • Maintain law and administrative libraries
  • Review and monitor actions for accuracy

Your training will equip you with the skills to interview witnesses, research court decisions and Army regulations, process legal claims and appeals, and prepare records of hearings, investigations, courts-martial, and courts of inquiry. By joining the Army National Guard, you will be preparing yourself for a rewarding civilian career as a legal assistant, clerk, paralegal assistant, or court clerk or recorder.

Job training for a Paralegal Specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Training and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and on-the-job instruction. With the Army National Guard, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and inclusive environment.
