Kheir Clinic (FQHC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Medicine Residency Program Director to lead our esteemed program. As a vital part of our mission to provide exceptional healthcare to underserved communities, the Program Director will play a crucial role in shaping the future of medical education and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Family Medicine Residency Program, ensuring adherence to ACGME standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement a robust curriculum that fosters the growth of residents' clinical skills, knowledge, and professionalism.
  • Cultivate a supportive and collaborative learning environment that promotes resident well-being and professional development.
  • Conduct regular program evaluations and make data-driven improvements to enhance the quality of training.
  • Mentor and guide residents throughout their training journey, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to ensure a seamless and enriching learning experience for residents.
  • Oversee the program's budget and resources effectively.
  • Advocate for the residency program within the organization and the broader medical community.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies related to resident training.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with affiliated hospitals and healthcare providers.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Provider License; Board-Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
  • First Aid / CPR Certificate.
  • Extensive knowledge of the nursing process, medical model, health and physical assessment, medical diagnosis, and appropriate treatments.
  • Ability to perform emergency resuscitation procedures.
  • Understanding of sanitation practices, proper nutrition, and related programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public. Strong leadership skills in managing and leading clinic operations.
  • Bilingual in English/Korean or English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • A genuine commitment to serving the health needs of underserved and uninsured communities.
  • Prior experience in a community clinic setting is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in one or more of the following:
    • 3 years of experience as a Faculty Member or Program Director at a Residency Program.
    • 3 years of experience serving as a Clinical Supervisor of Residents or Site Medical Director or Rotation Director.
    • Participation on an ACGME Program Clinical Competency Committee or Program Evaluation Committee.
    • Previous leadership roles in an ACGME Residency Program (DIO, Program Director, Chief of Clinical Department, Director of Medical Education).
    • Prior experience in research, publications, and scholarly activities is a plus.
