Surgery Scheduler Job Description

Stellis Health, P.A. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our team. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and coordinate patient procedures and surgeries performed at outside facilities.
  • Obtain prior authorizations and referrals for patient procedures and surgeries.
  • Ensure effective communication between providers, clinical staff, and patients.
  • Accurately schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures and surgeries.
  • Administer the prior authorization and referral process to ensure maximum benefit coverage.
  • Provide basic patient education regarding procedures.
  • Collaborate with the medical business office to ensure proper claim processing.
  • Determine site of service restrictions for services.
  • Review insurance policies.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3 years of healthcare administrative/business office experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of prior authorization process.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, written, and critical thinking skills required.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and integrate priorities and deadlines.
  • EMR experience, Epic preferred.
