Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Communications Specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Information Systems team, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of our information systems hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate the installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of our integrated and specialized information systems.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing.
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage.
  • Prepare documentation or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions.
  • Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Ensure secure movement of information across a multi-classification level computing environment.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment.
  • Support integration and provide engineering feedback on effectiveness of system upgrades and modifications.
  • May design systems or portions of systems that include selection of hardware and software packages.
Requirements
  • A High School diploma and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or an Associates Degree and 7 years of Network Communications/Administration experience; or a Bachelors degree and 5 years of Network Communications/Administration experience; or Masters and 3 years for relevant experience; PhD with zero years for relevant experience.
  • Have or obtain Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Able to complete initial qualification training within 365 days from program access and show continuous progress throughout the training program.
  • Willing/able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.
  • Ability to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.
  • Have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
  • Accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 90 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements to include required immunizations and vaccinations.
  • Have a current DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain that clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Requirements Capture, Test and Implementation, Integrated Maintenance Data System, Unix/Solaris Operating Systems and Principles, Windows Server and Desktop versions, Wide Area (WAN) and Local Area (LAN) networking, Group policy design, testing and implementation, Radio Frequency Transmission Systems, Satellite Communications Systems, Oracle RAC, Virtualization, Flight experience and familiarity with commercial mission planning software, Quality Assurance or performing quality reviews of technical publications or training documents.
Salary Range

$93,000 - $139,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
