Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Architect to join our Systems Engineering and Integration Team in Beale AFB, CA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and maintaining the smooth operation of a training systems in a development laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Define System Architecture: Develop and maintain system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems and supporting laboratory infrastructure.
  • System Specifications and Security: Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security.
  • Subsystem Integration: Coordinate architecture, design of subsystems and integration into a total system architecture.
  • Program Support Deficiencies: Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
  • Corrective Actions: Develops and recommends corrective actions. Will consult with software baseline engineers to ensure successful system total design.
  • Installation and Reconfiguration: Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) hardware and proprietary software builds and ensure their functionality and interface within an entire system.
  • Network Expertise: Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Network Documentation: Prepare or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Network Analysis: Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Third-Party Maintenance: May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  • Network Design: May design network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with Master's; 3 years with PhD.
  • Clearance: Current DOD Top Secret clearance (or higher) completed within the last 6 years.
  • Cybersecurity Certifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Cybersecurity certifications such as IAT Level 3 Security Certification (Security, CySA, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP) or IAT DoD level 3 (CASP, CCNP-Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH) within 6 months of start date.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 25%.
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer Science or Information Systems: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with Master's; 3 years with PhD.
  • IAT Level 2 Security Certification: Current IAT Level 2 security certification.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level I Certification: DoD 8570 IAT Level I Certification (Security).
  • VMware Virtualization: Experience with VMware Virtualization.

Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,600
