Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Coordinator Senior to join our team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the recruiting, screening, and enrolling of patients for participation in multiple clinical trials, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the recruiting, screening, and enrolling of patients for participation in multiple clinical trials.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
  • Assist with the grant application process and monitor expenses for all protocols.
  • Supervise, plan, and prioritize the work of Clinical Research Coordinators.
  • Participate in hiring and training Clinical Research Coordinators.
  • Monitor performance of staff and contribute to annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensure that schedules, follow-up, and completion of research protocols progress as planned.
  • Work with staff to resolve day-to-day problems.
  • Assist in the execution of new IRB applications and processes annual reviews for the IRB committees with regard to consents.
  • Interact with patients prior to entering the study and throughout the entire treatment.
  • Discuss and obtain informed consent with patients.
  • Revises protocol consent form to comply with federal, state, and IRB guidelines.
  • Assess potential patients' eligibility for inclusion in a particular protocol based on contracts with physicians and nurses and knowledge of the protocol.
  • Monitor the occurrence of adverse events and report them according to the guidelines of the FDA, sponsoring drug company (if applicable), and the IRB.
  • Prepare records for audits and interact with industry or sponsoring organization representatives to review records at time of audits.
  • Develop financial and statistical reports and monitor expenses related to each protocol.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience in a medical setting; clinical research setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Working knowledge of computerized applications, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving.
