Position Overview: The Clinical Research Coordinator II will oversee the daily functions of clinical research projects led by Dr. Stephanie Sacharow. The focus of these projects is on Phenylketonuria in both pediatric and adult populations. Responsibilities include managing drug trials and conducting neurological imaging and neurocognitive assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitating study appointments, which encompasses reaching out to patients and families, organizing visits, preparing necessary study materials, and coordinating with monitoring teams.
- Acting as the primary contact between Boston Children's Hospital and external study sponsors or Contract Research Organizations (CROs). Engaging in the processes of screening, consenting, recruiting, and selecting study participants.
- Assisting in the preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) and/or Clinical Care Initiative (CCI) documentation in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and other research team members.
- Conducting data collection and generating analytical reports to summarize study findings.
- Contributing to the writing of articles and summary reports for various scientific publications.
- Completing electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) and paper Case Report Forms (CRFs). Leading regular meetings to provide updates to the Principal Investigator regarding study progress.
- Taking on leadership roles within Dr. Sacharow's team for various research initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field or Psychology.
- A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in conducting clinical trials.
- Strong analytical skills to address complex issues using scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
This position requires a commitment to collaboration and independent work within a dynamic research environment.
