Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team at MaineGeneral Health. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule appointments, verify insurance benefits, and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary.
  • Clinical Support: Provide administrative support to clinical departments, including greeting patients, answering phones, and performing clerical duties.
  • Financial Management: Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, and/or refer to financial counselors for follow-up.
  • Registration and Data Entry: Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
