Position Overview

This role involves engaging with various departments and undertaking special projects, enabling you to build a network and gain insights into the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct essential accounting functions to guarantee precise and prompt financial close cycles, along with the creation of internal and external financial statements and reports. This includes:

  • Recording, analyzing, and reconciling accounting ledgers and accounts.
  • Preparing inter-company billings, property assessments, regulatory reporting documents, and tax submissions.

Support the accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, contributing to the development of necessary financial statements and regulatory reports.

Assume a leadership role in analyzing and reporting on various business cycles, ensuring timely and accurate financial data management.

Gather and evaluate complex financial information to:

  • Reconcile assigned accounts.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare detailed accounting entries.
  • Generate reports and manage inter-company transactions.
  • Conduct property valuations.

Utilize appropriate methods to analyze financial data, identify negative trends, and propose solutions to minimize financial repercussions.

Engage in or lead special projects as assigned, which may involve:

  • Testing system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Providing support for rate cases.
  • Conducting financial analyses and creating ad hoc reports.
  • Implementing process improvement initiatives.

Deliver timely and precise assistance to clients within the supported business area, including:

  • Interpreting account codes and financial reports.
  • Providing updates on project statuses.
  • Resolving work order issues.

Prepare presentations, statistical reports, schedules, and other relevant information regarding operational results for management and external stakeholders. Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and management on technical accounting or system-related matters.

Stay informed about new or proposed local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal and external financial reporting requirements. Apply a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and GAAP to creatively resolve complex issues.

May provide guidance and training to fellow analysts.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, with a focus on complex accounting challenges and multi-company accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of a Master’s Degree or certifications such as CPA, CMA, CFA, or experience in investment banking or public accounting may be considered to meet the minimum experience requirement.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and business/legal principles, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
