Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lead Cost Consultant to contribute to the operations at Galliford Try.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial management, reporting, and performance metrics on a significant project or multiple smaller initiatives.

- Ensure adherence to safety protocols on-site.

- Develop Subcontract documentation, including the negotiation of terms, pricing, and scheduling.

- Manage subcontractor work packages, including interim assessments and change management processes.

- Generate and distribute all necessary commercial notifications to both Clients and Subcontractors as dictated by contractual obligations.


- Effectively manage changes in accordance with contract stipulations, including the preparation and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.


- Prepare, submit, and finalize monthly applications to Clients, adhering to contractual requirements.


- Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to maintain site records to the required standards.


- Create and present comprehensive monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) as needed by the project or business unit.


- Maintain a detailed 'Cost Plan', tracking and forecasting expenses, including comprehensive schedules of Subcontractor liabilities and utilizing Oracle-based cost analysis tools.

- Analyze and critically assess expenditure reports generated by internal cost management systems.

- Conduct weekly progress and risk mitigation meetings with Clients and subcontractors.

- Uphold the principles of integrity and value maximization in all financial dealings.

- Support estimating and bidding teams with contractual insights.

Candidate Profile:
- Strong understanding of standard contract forms.

- Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies.

- Exceptional time management and outcome delivery skills.

- Professional qualifications such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally at the Incorporated level, working towards full membership (Desirable).

- Relevant degree and/or experience in a commercial environment.

- Experience in managing large-scale projects or multiple smaller initiatives.

- Appropriate CSCS certification.
