Job Summary:

The Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for driving and leading a wide range of activities to improve on-time delivery, productivity, quality, cost, manufacturing, safety, engineering, forecasting, and environmental performance within the company's operating model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with location leadership to drive continuous improvement activities and waste elimination, identifying and implementing new productivity improvements.
  • Lead Manufacturing, Process Owners, and Industrial Engineering activities to support operations excellence in IGT operations.
  • Responsible for QSI cost analysis, manufacturing cost analysis, capacity, labor quoting, and forecasting.
  • Facilitate and drive the 5-year Hoshin with advanced manufacturing for IGT.
  • Facilitate successful kaizen and rapid improvement process events with internal and external consultants, customers, and suppliers, with a focus on locally driven improvement.
  • Coordinate and deliver team-based and continuous improvement training to enhance organizational performance.
  • Facilitate, review, and aid locations in developing Hoshin IGT plans.
  • Serve as an internal consultant and catalyst to assist individuals and teams in applying continuous improvement principles and techniques.
  • Coach and support leadership at all levels in meeting business improvement metrics through the application of continuous improvement methods and techniques.
  • Establish reporting methods to track progress and communication processes to inform the organization of results and opportunities.
  • Facilitate consistent, uniform approaches for visual controls and productivity measurements throughout product teams and the factory.
  • Assist manufacturing leaders in team skill and knowledge development to support meeting management goals, project management, improvements, results measurements, problem-solving, and related team skills.
  • Provide guidance and consultation focusing on the perfection of continuous improvement techniques, identifying opportunities for improvements, continually evaluating results, and sustaining performance gains.
  • Direct and lead manufacturing analysts in capacity and forecasting.
  • Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Howmet Aerospace Guide to Business Conduct.
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing, productivity improvements, cost analysis, forecasting, capacity, and rapid improvement techniques.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing work environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' Continuous Improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
