Objective & Scope: This role is primarily accountable for ensuring that the company's protocols and standard operating procedures concerning third-party sanitation service providers are meticulously followed on a daily basis.
Additionally, this position will oversee the sanitation operations during the third shift and manage the master sanitation program for the facility.
Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of all facets of sanitation processes, quality assurance, USDA regulations, and all safety protocols, including but not limited to chemical safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with the company's policies, procedures, and SOPs related to third-party sanitation vendors, as well as all applicable laws and regulations, by both company personnel and external vendors.
Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to relevant policies, procedures, SOPs, and legal requirements at the plant level.
Develop, implement, and supervise policies, programs, and SOPs to support third-party sanitation contractor obligations, company initiatives, the supplier code of conduct, and all other company guidelines.
Monitor the performance of the third-party sanitation contractor during the third shift, confirm proper cleaning and sanitation tasks are executed, inspect production areas for maintenance needs, and complete necessary work orders.
Collaborate with various departmental leaders and team members, along with the contract sanitation provider, to ensure the facility is thoroughly cleaned each day and prepared for inspections.
Oversee sanitation processes for food safety, address safety concerns, and ensure contractor compliance with all relevant company policies and procedures.
Conduct daily evaluations of all onsite personnel to guarantee adherence to company employment policies, supplier code of conduct, and all other related guidelines.
Partner with the Head of Contractor Compliance on company initiatives, report contractor deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and assess plant performance.
Manage daily communications with the contract sanitation provider regarding third shift sanitation activities, including real-time updates about their workforce.
Document nightly observations and relay information to all necessary stakeholders, including the Head of Contractor Compliance.
Inspect production areas for required mechanical repairs, complete work orders for repairs, and follow up to ensure completion.
Administer the facility's master sanitation program, working with employees and management to ensure that work areas are consistently sanitized. Maintain all sanitation departmental records, interpret and enforce company policies and procedures, and evaluate the effectiveness of sanitation staff's cleaning capabilities.
Ensure compliance with all USDA and HACCP regulations by sanitation personnel. Guarantee that all new sanitation employees receive training in Food Safety, HACCP, Chemical Safety, and Lockout/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Conduct weekly checks on various chemical concentrations and dispensing units.
Train new Quality Assurance staff on Pre-Op procedures, coordinate with USDA during their Pre-Op inspections, monitor cutting board wear, follow up with maintenance on work orders, and oversee cooler temperature monitoring overnight.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: 1-3 years in a production role or related experience or deemed equivalent experience.
Special Skills:
Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail. Intermediate to advanced skills in Word and Excel preferred. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and seek clarification as needed. Experience in the meat industry is preferred. A solid background in HAZMAT, LOTO, Chemical Safety, and all applicable safety standards affecting the sanitation process is essential.
