Job Responsibilities

">* Provide clinical nutrition consultation in coordination with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary care team
* Conduct nutrition assessments and interventions for inpatients and outpatients
* Develop and implement nutritional care plans based on diet history, labs, medications, supplements, medical history, medical care plan, and expected growth and development appropriate for the patient's age, sex, cultural/ethnic background, and disease-specific requirements
* Document patient information via electronic medical records
* Participate in research projects and stay up-to-date with emerging research and practice guidelines in pediatric nutrition
* Serve as a nutrition resource to medical teams, hospital staff, and community providers
* Interact and coordinate nutritional care of patients with physicians and other healthcare providers
* Fulfills on-call responsibilities on a rotating schedule with other dietitian staff

Qualifications

">* Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field from a U.S.-regionally accredited university or college
* Completion of continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration and licensure as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
* Previous experience in pediatric nutrition highly desirable
* Certification in a specialty area such as pediatrics or renal nutrition an added asset
