Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Allina Health. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling procedures and examinations according to department and/or physician guidelines, ensuring accurate and complete patient and procedure information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and verify appointments, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and entered into the system.
  • Prepare and maintain patient records, including demographic and insurance information.
  • Perform receptionist and clerical duties, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
  • Maintain departmental records, reports, and files, and ensure that all necessary documents are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff, and respond to their needs in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in a healthcare program preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a medical office setting, with a focus on scheduling and patient registration.
  • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and office software, including Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work, with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
