Job Summary

Nash Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach in our Veterinary Medical Technology program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Deliver lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions to students in the Veterinary Medical Technology program.
    • Develop and implement curriculum plans, learning objectives, and assessments to meet program goals.
    • Provide individualized instruction and support to students, including advising and mentoring.
  • Program Development and Assessment
    • Contribute to the development and revision of program policies, procedures, and curriculum.
    • Participate in program assessment and evaluation activities, including the development of assessment tools and the analysis of student learning outcomes.
  • Student Support and Services
    • Provide academic support and guidance to students, including tutoring and mentoring.
    • Develop and implement strategies to promote student retention and success.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators to ensure the success of the program.
    • Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to develop and implement program initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • A current NC licensed veterinarian or credentialed veterinary technician in NC who is a graduate of an AVMA or CVMA-accredited program.
    • Ability to demonstrate the educational background and occupational experience appropriate to understand and fulfill program goals, instructional assignments, and promote the role of the veterinary technician in the veterinary health care team.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Well-developed clinical, technical, computer, organization, time management, and communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with students, staff, faculty, and representatives from various animal health professions and settings.

  • Maintain stationary position, sitting or standing, for extended periods of time.

  • Occasionally move to different classrooms across campus to provide instruction, advising, and instructional support.
  • Drive to remote instructional sites or other locations in performance of the duties listed in this job description.
