Job Summary

L.F. Driscoll is seeking a highly skilled MEP Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of large commercial and institutional MEP subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage project activity, including schedules, spending, and related items to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned MEP trades.
  • Communication: Conduct internal MEP staff meetings to disseminate company and project information, ensuring all staff is informed of needed information, policies, and expectations.
  • Procurement: Support the procurement of MEP materials for the project in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Financial Management: Review subcontractor and vendor invoices, approve for payment, or negotiate changes as necessary.
  • Change Management: Prepare and submit change orders for approval and ensure subcontractors are notified of all change order documentation.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with architects, engineers, clients, building representatives, and subcontractors on the project team.
  • Quality Control: Execute quality control inspections, issue deficiency notices, and maintain and track items to closure.
  • Commissioning: Develop and coordinate with subcontractors and owners a plan to start up and commission MEP systems prior to substantial completion of the project.
  • RFI Management: Review subcontractor RFIs, answer questions, or issue to the design team as a formal RFI.
  • Material Expediting: Manage the material expediting log, following up regularly to confirm dates are on track.
  • Permitting: Follow up on trade permits and special inspections as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of commercial general contractor project management experience, with a focus on the healthcare sector.
  • Skills: Strong supervisory responsibility, well-developed communications, decision-making, financial analysis, interpersonal, organizational, and team work skills.
  • Client Relationships: Strong ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and architects.
