Trustpoint is seeking a highly skilled Staff Attorney to join our Litigation and E-Discovery Services team in Santa Monica, CA. As a Staff Attorney, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients with complex litigation document reviews and electronic discovery projects.
Key Responsibilities- Document Review and Project Management: Plan, conduct, and supervise strategic document review and production, including preparing review playbooks, review protocols, and training reviewers.
- Team Management: Manage teams of temporary contract attorneys, including tracking metrics, providing feedback on performance, quality control, and other issues as they arise.
- Client Support: Provide guidance and legal support to case teams with document review process management, including communicating effectively with case teams and vendors regarding project status, issues, and timelines.
- ESI Search and Review: Advise attorneys and clients on best practices and procedures related to ESI search and review in litigation, regulatory investigations, and other matters.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate with the Firm's Director of Contract Professionals regarding the hiring and administrative aspects of temporary review attorneys.
- Quality Control: Perform final quality control and confirm proper workflows have been followed.
- Strategic Planning: Recommend strategies and help design defensible and cost-effective document review plans.
- Cost Reduction: Assist case teams with keyword development, document sampling, and other strategies to reduce document review costs.
- Staying Current: Stay current on developing E-Discovery law and procedures, including the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable state rules regarding privilege and proportionality.
- JD Degree: Active member in good standing of the California state bar.
- Experience: 2+ years as a Staff Attorney, Litigation Attorney, or E-Discovery attorney at a law firm performing and managing complex litigation document reviews and electronic discovery projects.
- Skills: Experience with relational document review databases such as Relativity, strong analytical skills, solid judgment, and ability to identify and manage risk.
- Preferred Qualifications: Mandarin language skills, experience working for an E-Discovery service provider, some electronic discovery certification or specialized training.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong writing abilities, excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Solid judgment, ability to identify and manage risk, high aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Project Management: Strong project management, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Customer Service: Customer service oriented, as demonstrated by strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize work tasks and manage deadlines based upon internal and external client need.
