The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and developing community volunteer opportunities for individuals with mental health disabilities, providing counseling, program planning, and job-specific training, as well as crisis intervention and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement employment plans for individuals with mental health disabilities
- Conduct intake assessments and determine eligibility for services
- Establish and monitor community volunteer opportunities for individuals
- Provide job-specific training, crisis intervention, and advocacy services
- Collaborate with other agencies to ensure access to support services
- Document all interactions and services provided in individual case files
- Associate's degree in a related field (vocational services, disabilities services, business, personnel management, mental health, or social services counseling)
- One year of experience in a similar field
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid NYS driver's license and proof of minimum insurance coverage
- Clearance through a background check process
The Rehabilitation Specialist will work in a variety of settings, including community locations, and may be required to travel to different locations. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing circumstances.
