Admissions Coordinator Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Admissions Coordinator to join our team at Kessler Rehabilitation Hospital. As a key member of our admissions/business development team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient referral intake process.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate timely and accurate referral intake as outlined in the admission workflow process.
  • Provide analytical insight into admissions data and referral patterns for effective business development.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments as needed and participate in organizational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the pull-through process for the hospital, providing support, customer service, and timely resolution of admissions and seeking assistance from the Director of Business Development or CEO as needed.
  • Ensure all deficiencies remain at 0% to eliminate holds, working with the Central Business Office and Health Information Management to resolve errors.
  • Ensure every referral is timely and accurately entered in Transitions of Care.
  • Process timely insurance verifications and assist in the pre-cert/authorization process.
  • Work with the Director of Business Development, CEO, and other leaders to ensure timely admissions from the time of referral.
  • Collaborate with the team to resolve occasional challenges and overcome obstacles.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience performing a broad range of duties in an Admissions or Pre-Admissions Department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification.
  • Experience working with Excel and databases.
  • Previous experience in a physical rehabilitation setting.
