Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages using various phlebotomy methods. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently will be essential in providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections methods.
  • Provide rapid response to medical emergencies, such as traumas and codes.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, handling, and transportation.
  • Utilize computer programs and systems to manage daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Participate in the training of students and new employees.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency (e.g., ASCP, NHA, ASPT).
