Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages using various phlebotomy methods. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently will be essential in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections methods.
- Provide rapid response to medical emergencies, such as traumas and codes.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Accurately identify patients, label, handle, and transport specimens.
- Answer phones and assist with training new employees and students.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing work volumes.
- Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency.
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification.
