Phlebotomist Role at Mayo Clinic

Mayo Clinic is a world-renowned healthcare organization that values innovation, diversity, and inclusion. As a Phlebotomist at Mayo Clinic, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care by collecting blood samples for laboratory testing.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients of all ages using various phlebotomy methods, including venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections.
  • Provide rapid response to medical emergencies, such as traumas and codes.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Use computer programs and systems to manage patient information and laboratory results.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Health Career Association (NHA), or the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT), preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical field, preferred.
  • Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
