Job Summary

Bear River Head Start is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team. As a Preschool Teacher Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment to prevent injuries and promote physical and intellectual development.
  • Support social and emotional development by providing positive guidance and encouraging children to practice acceptable behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with children and families, and provide opportunities for family involvement and support.
  • Assist in recruiting families and children to Head Start programs, and actively communicate with families to ensure program responsiveness to their needs.
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks, and maintain accurate records of daily health and safety checklists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Based Teacher or other supervisors.
Requirements
  • Preschool CDA preferred, with willingness to obtain within two years of hire.
  • Able to become CPR and First Aid certified, TB tested, and obtain a Food Handler's Permit.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred, with ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) if required.
  • Experience working with children and families, with a strong commitment to professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work productively under stress, and demonstrate a proactive attitude, tenacity, and stamina.
